Any time I'm forced to fly Qantas within Australia always results in something bad.
Red Storm Rising by Tom Clancy, I've read every single one of his books since and loved them, so it did change my life as I'm not really a big reader of fiction (I'd rather read a technical manual, biography or gudie) as I actually now occasionally read works of fiction....when Tom Clancy releases books at least :-)
Rhinestone Cowboy - Glen Campbell in 75. In 96: Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix) - Los Del Rio, at least in the States, anyone know of an Australian list?
Interesting question of the day from Vox, What am I doing this weekend, given it's Monday here! :-)
Home Made Pizza, everyone loves my pizza.
Update: for those visting my Vox blog/ site for the first time I should explain: the main Vox site has a question of the day, which if you are logged in automatically posts your response to your Vox Blog.
But more on the pizza!
My first job when I left school and went to uni was in a Pizza shop, delivering pizzas, helping in the Kitchen, and serving customers. It wasn't a chain store either, it was with an Italian guy with his own shop, and hence I got to watch a lot, and on maybe a few occasions, make pizza as well. Hence I learnt.
How I cook pizza (note, ingredients are from Australia).
McCains frozen pizza bases are the best, but I've tried a few of the fresh variety: be careful though, a lot of the so-called "fresh" bases aren't, they all come out of Melbourne and they are often 2-3 weeks old by the time you use them.
Base: Lego's Tomato Paste with Garlic and Herbs, you can use the straight tomato paste, but the garlic and herb one is better.
Pizza Topper Cheese: I can't remember the brand but it's not the Coon branded cheese, its got an Italian name. Most people don't put cheese on the base...it's the secret ingredient on any good italian pizza.
McCormicks "Pizza Topper herbs" on the base as well, a light sprinkle because you'll be using it again on top.
Toppings:
I go in this order, and believe it or not, order helps. You can substitute you're own topping, but I'll say I've never had much luck with chicken.
First: Ham. I tend to use the honey shaved ham. The honeyed ham is a little sweeter than your usual ham, but any ham will usually do.
2. Pepperonni, or as my son calls it: Pizzaroni :-)
3. Pinnapple
4. Capsicum (or I think they call this peppers in the States).
5. (sometimes) mushroom.
6. Onion...always the onion should be on top of the other stuff.,
7. Then your pizza topper again
8. Cheese topper again, don't be shy either.
9. (optional): sauce, occasionally I'll add BBQ or Steak sauce.
so that's it. Don't be shy with the toppings, we aren't making a skinny Domino's Pizza after all. A nice thick pizza everyone likes!
Sitepoint, buying a decent returning site...or maybe Scriptlance asking someone to design a Vox clone :-)
